ABOUT US:
Black Dog Cycle Works Inc. was founded on a deep passion for anything on two wheels. Kurt Forgét, the principal of the company has a long history with motorcycles of all shapes and sizes.

Fast forward 20 years and MANY motorcycles, track days and training sessions later the continued passion that has ruled his life for many years became more than a hobby with the creation of Black Dog Cycle Works. A dream realized for sure – to be involved in the motorcycle industry at a professional level.

Based in beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho a recreation destination in the Pacific Northwest, there are literally hundreds of miles of amazing roads, both dirt & paved, in every direction. This area affords many great opportunities to do a lot of “product testing” – something we extremely enjoy!!

Our mission is simple:

• Excellent Customer Service is our number one priority. We don’t process transactions, we build relationships with our clients.
• Carry only what we feel are the best products for a given discipline (most of which we test before we sell, and if we don’t we will carry a product only if we have received valuable feedback from trusted sources)
•  Develop unique, high quality products that we can be proud of AND have them manufactured in the U.S.A!!
•  Always remember, this is our all-consuming passion. Keep it fun and make time to ride even when it seems there are never enough hours in the day for the business side of things.
•  Share our expertise with our customers to help them customize their bike(s) to meet their individual needs
•  Support the sport and industry with a positive image & business practices.

Kurt is not shy about sharing his all-consuming disease with his wife and partner Martha, who has several motorcycles of her own and has been riding for more than 10 years. She has recently joined Black Dog Cycle Works to assist run operations and customer service.  She takes customer satisfaction seriously and it shows in the loyalty of our customers.

Here is a small sample of some of the motorcycle events we have enjoyed over the years:

• Alcan 5000 rally – finished 5th in class
• Pit crew for a Baja 500 and 1000
• Jimmy Lewis’ off-road classes
• Track days at Laguna Seca, Sears Point & Thunderhill
• Dual sport / adventure rides all over California, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho & Washington.

Motorcycles and riding will always hold a very special place for us – the way they enrich our lives through the journeys we take, the experiences of new and undiscovered territories, the adventures we “survive” and most importantly, the amazing people we meet along the way.

Whatever kind of bike you have, for us, it is about the RIDE! There is an adventure around every corner – let’s go find it…..
