The BDCW Throttle Control is the absolutely BEST way to avoid fatigue and throttle wrist cramping during a long stint on the pavement. This unit is truly an Instant On & Off motorcycle throttle control that requires less than a one quarter turn to activate.

The design and functionality of this control is far superior to anything else on the market (and we have tested them ALL) that it′s simply a no brainer.

Make your next trip more enjoyable and stop fighting the throttle when on the pavement!

  FEATURES

  • It’s “click on, click off” feature provides a positive feel and positioning, taking the guess work out of setting the proper drag.
  • In the “off position” the throttle has full spring return.
  • In the “on position” the drag is preset and will hold the throttle position regardless of vibration, temperature, or expansion due to heated hand grips and rain.
  • Speed can be increased or decreased without disengaging the unit.
  • It can be over-ridden in emergency situations.
  • No fussing with the tension on the grip like threaded designs (i.e. Kaoko, Wunderlich, Throttlemeister).
  • NEW Thrust Washer eliminates excess friction between soft grips and the friction ring for smoother operation
  • Easy to install

  INSTALLATION NOTES

  • The right handguard must have the ability to move outward about 1 inch to accommodate the width of the throttle control

  • Includes flathead, buttonhead and sockethead bolts to work with various styles of handguards

“I also tried out my new cruise control by Black Dog, it’s much better than my Kaoko, and fast to use—just roll the ring forward 1/8th of a turn and it’s on, then roll it forward or backwards to release it.”—Doug Matson on ADVRider

    Throttle Control

Posted by Tiger on Mar 20th 2024

I got my throttle lock in today and found there were no directions included just a QR code (which I hate). I clicked on the QR code and the directions were a little vague. I called to get advice on installation but no one ever called me back. I managed to decipher the directions and install the throttle lock per the directions leaving a .20" gape between the thrust washer and the throttle tube. I turned the throttle control forward 1/4 turn to lock the throttle but it did nothing and the throttle popped right back closed. I put on some magnifying glasses so I could take a close look to see if the throttle control moved toward the throttle tube to add friction but it did not. I'm not sure if I got a bad item or what but it was a dismal failure. I will be returning the non-functioning product. DO NOT BUY!

Best throttle lock on the market!

I had an atlas and another kind before that. Both of them worked for a sports time and then I found I had to re adjust or replace. The black dog throttle lock is simple to install and works perfectly making the long highway stretches so much better!!!

    No Need Cruise Control

Posted by Terek on Feb 25th 2019

I got one back around 2015-16. I recently bought a 2nd unit just to make my bars symmetric, yes, really. Anyway, very easy to to engage and disengage on the fly, even with gloves. Best of all, you can change your speed when its engaged.

No rusting, I leave my 2014 KTM 1190 parked outside in all weather. I have dropped my bar in sand and mud, no problem.

If the control ever sticks for any reason, just spray some powder graphite into it. Good as new.
