DESIGN NOTES
We now offer two different versions of our Cylinder Guards for the BMW R1300GS with BMW OEM Crash Bars (not included). Both are made of 3/16" aluminum (same as our skid plate) to provide excellent protection to the fragile cylinder heads. The stock covers are extremely thin and provide minimal protection - something we definitely would not trust in the backcountry.
Our Medium Duty Cylinder Guards bolt directly to the mounting points on the BMW OEM Crash Bars using 4 bolts. We recommend these for most adventure riders tackling average terrain and difficulty levels or for riders just looking to beef up the protection on their bike for the occasional tip-over.
Our Heavy Duty Cylinder Guards secure to the BMW OEM Crash Bars using three burly machined clamps with M8 torx head bolts. We recommend these for riders tackling more advanced and extreme terrain. These are sure to take a beating over and over.
NUTS, BOLTS AND BENEFITS
Made from 3/16" 5052 Aluminum with countersunk bolts - provides a smooth sliding surface.
Does not have protruding bolt heads that are prone to get caught up on.

Heavy Duty Cylinder Guards secure to the BMW OEM Crash Bars using three burly machined clamps using M8 stainless steel hardware.
The shape conforms well to the crash bars and provides extra support for larger impacts.
Medium Duty are available in Silver Vein or Black Hammertone Powdercoat with an extra layer of clearcoat.
Heavy Duty are available in Silver Vein Powdercoat with an extra layer of clearcoat.
