BDCW's original ULTIMATE Skid Plate for the F650/700/800 series is often viewed as providing the absolute MAXIMUM protection for these bikes, taking a pounding year after year while protecting the important and often fragile components of the bike.
Taking a fresh look at their original design from 6 years ago, BDCW launched into a complete redesign for the skid plate for these models. Enter version 2.0. Making what was already the best even better, the new design as gained a tremendous amount of ground clearance at the front and the sides of the plate, and still offers a smooth bottom for gliding over obstacles. Installation is ridiculously EASY and only two bolts to remove for maintenance!

BDCW’s continues their innovative approach by creating a one piece underlying mounting bracket that joins their frame mount at the rear with the front mounting point, resulting in the most effective and strong mounting base available. BDCW has retained their unique "keyhole" mounting design at the rear so only 2 bolts need to be removed to take the skid plate off for maintenance.
As with our original design, it is very unlikely that the two-sided rubber shear bolts will be damaged over time as they most likely will with on every other skid plate on the market. The replacement of these mounts can get pricey ($50 from most BMW dealers).
Look at this way, this is the only skid plate on the market that is likely to SAVE YOU MONEY over the long run.

Note: Our skid plate uses the stock rubber shear bolts that hold on the stock plastic skid plate. If your stock rubber shear bolts are damaged or need to be replaced, we have replacement sets available. Select the "Skid + shear bolts" from the drop down menu in the shopping cart.
